Each piece starts from a raw signal: a news item, a dataset, a trend. We identify the single most specific, checkable fact in it, then ban the consensus take and look for the non-obvious reframe with a verifiable spine and a clear second-order effect.

We research outward and derive: we compute the ratios, per-capita figures, and gaps that no one published. Every load-bearing number is confirmed against its primary source, and volatile figures require a source dated inside the relevant window.

Before publishing we write the strongest case against our own thesis, and fold it in. If it collapses the argument, we change the argument or drop the piece.

Charts are built from the same verified numbers, in the house palette. If a figure is not reliably sourced, it does not appear, in the prose or the charts.

The Signal is produced by one human plus AI, with deterministic checks on sources, links, images, and claims running on every piece.
