IMF predicts moderate growth for US economy in 2023-2024

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released new GDP forecasts for the USA for the years 2023 and 2024. According to the latest forecast, the US economy is expected to grow at a rate of 1.4% in 2023 and 1.0% in 2024. These latest forecasts are the same as the previous ones released by the IMF on 2023-01-01. In comparison to forecasts from other sources, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has also released GDP growth forecasts for the USA. As of November 2022, the OECD forecasted a growth rate of 5.9% for the USA in 2023 and 3.1% in 2024. This suggests a more optimistic outlook for the US economy compared to the IMF forecasts. However, it is important to note that forecasting economic growth can be challenging and subject to many uncertainties, such as the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and potential policy changes.
